You have advantage on any Strength (Athletics) check you make to shove a creature while carrying this shield and you can use shove as a bonus action. On a success, you can have the creature take bludgeoning damage equal to 1d4 + your Strength modifier.

When an attacker that you can see hits you with an attack while holding this shield, you can use your reaction to gain resistance against the attack’s damage.

When you take acid, cold, fire, lightning, or thunder damage while holding this shield; you can use your reaction to gain resistance against that type of damage until the end of your next turn.

Redirect Damage (Requires Attunement)

When a creature within 5 feet of you takes damage, you can use your reaction to magically take that damage, instead of that creature taking it. This enchantment doesn’t transfer any other effects that might accompany the damage, and this damage can’t be reduced in any way.

Shield Animation (Requires Attunement)

While holding this shield, you can speak its command word as a bonus action to cause it to animate. The shield leaps into the air and hovers in your space to protect you as if you were wielding it, leaving your hands free. The shield remains animated for 1 minute, until you use a bonus action to end this effect, or until you are incapacitated or die, at which point the shield falls to the ground or into your hand if you have one free.
